That's most likely not the ground wire.. It's probably the positive positive lead wire.( If it's the big black wire ) The starter is grounded just by being bolted to the engine. FYI be VERY CAREFUL when working with that wire. Be sure that the battery is disconnect. Pull the battery and have it tested and changed if it good. If it's bad. Replace it. Let me know if that's the problem.

You.. Well i rechecked everything and iam not sure exactly which wire ur talking about.... (the positive from battery) (or the black one on the (emc)??? wire.. And does it go to starter or engine????..

The 2 wire's from the battery work like this. The battery has a positive and negative. The negative is grounded to the frame. The positive go's to the fuse box. From the fuse box the power is distributed. Since the negative connection is grounded to the frame and ONLY the frame the only problem with that wire is that it can get dirty and not complete the circuit. Make sure that it's got a clean connection from the battery to the frame on both ends. If it has a poor connection things like the radio and lights might work. They don't require lots of battery power. However the battery dose need lots of power. So if the battery has no connection or a bad connection the starter will not work. The other thing is if you have an alarm system and it thinks the car is being stolen it will shut off power to the engine. When ever you disconnect the battery be sure that the key isn't in the ignition. Just to be sure we are on the same page, the starter is NOT engaging the engine. No starter auction what so ever....Right?
