check your battery connections, sounds like a loose ground. check it where it hooks to the block too. makes sure clean and tight.

check the master fuse, look in your repair manuals electrical dims for location...usually under the hood against firewall, then check the connections on the starter if crossed it will draw power and drain the battery

same problem on my 2007 Express 3500 (Start position of key sees no power to dash cluster, no starter cranking or intermittent cranking)..... replaced starter, ignition switch, and NSS but black wire feeding NSS was down to one strand; fixed wiring and cranks/starts just fine. Wiring appeared to be eaten by a rodent. I understand Honda and Toyota have lots of problems with mice eating soy-based insulation on wiring and wonder if Chevy uses same type wiring?.
