Is there a place to plug in my code reader on 2000 cabriolet?

Check engine light came on in granddaughters car. Trying to figure out what the problem is. Thanks for any help.

under the radio little to right, good luck those cars sometime need the proper reader

In my '99 cabrio it is to the right of the ashtray under the cigarette lighter. Looks just like a flush piece of plastic (square). It pops off easy.
