What is fair sale price on a 1988 Camry, 40,000 original miles, in pristine
condition. It is a one owner vehicle.

It depends somewhat on what market you live in. Additionally because of the age combined with the great condition there are not many, if any, comparable vehicle sales to gauge the market against. The best you can do is throw out a price and see if anyone bites. I'd advertise it for $6000 (which is too high) and listen to whatever offers are presented. If you live close to Denver I would be interested in the car but keep in mind because I'm a dealer who would resell the car for profit I'd have to pay an amount that would allow me to do so.
