I have a 1987 Honda Accord. i want to change engines becuase my car is giving me trouble by licking oil and sometimes it feels like the car will shut down, also it vibrates to much.

On a car this old, it REALLY would be more cost-effective and make much better sense to just change up to a newer vehicle (be it a Honda or otherwise). 80's Accords were decent cars though.....

I agree with Racer_X. Do you still have the Accord? What did you end up doing? For others reading this older thread that I've revived, even with a car as solid as a 1987 Honda Accord (I owned one for 20 years and put over 350,000 kilometres on it - it was still running great when I parted with it), you will eventually reach a point where you have to decide whether or not it is worth putting more money into the car, or trading up for a newer model. If you are a very good mechanic, or have a friend who is, then you might want to take the advice James offered. Otherwise, you'd be better off to sell the 1987 Accord for as much as you can get (either private sale or as a parts car), and put that money towards a car that is less than 10 years old and in good shape. Make sure to have it inspected by a reliable third party before putting any money down or committing to the deal. Check for outstanding liens and you might want to have a read through Lemon-aid before deciding what to get - if not going with an Accord again. I've had a half dozen or so used vehicles since I sold my Accord and every single one of them has been a big disappointment so far. I think my next vehicle might just be ... another new (or low mileage) Honda!!
