2004 mercedees call 320

Asked by Yvonne Dec 01, 2018 at 01:30 PM about the 2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK 320 Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2004 mercedees cell 320 is running a bit rough.
I have trouble putting my foot on the gas pedal
without the car revving up to 40. It has the check
engine light on plus it's throwing codes for a
misfire and the mass air flow sensor. It drives fine
when you drive long distance. Locally it acts up
sometimes when I stop at a light or a stop sign.
Can someone explain this or have a clue? I'm lost.

Likely to be a gummed up MAF. I have seen cleaning procedures that aren't too difficult. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjON_VMQZho Otherwise, a competent mechanic should be able to clean, assuming that's it. If that does not work, it may have to be replaced.
