I think the first thing you will need to do is have the code(s) read, you can go to a local parts store such as Auto Zone and have them read for free. Post them here and we will try to help...

I just had my 1997 Chevy Express 1500 with the Vortex 5.7 fixed for this problem at the dealer service department— the problem was Code p0336 (faulty crank sensor and oil intrusion at the connector) $344.00 for diagnostics, parts, and labor. Van works fine now. Wish you luck!!!
