Truck just randomly shuts off

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 Ram1500 with the 4.7 motor. Every winter the check engine light constantly comes on for the Cam positioning sensor. I have replaced it 6 times in 3 years. Now when its really cold the truck just randomly shuts off. Any clues why?

I did that. Dodge put a new cam positioning sensor and crank sensor in. It still does it. Only when it's cold. I never have a problem during the summer.

Something is also messing up the battery. Bought a new one last January and had to replace it in March. Can the same problem be causing both issues?
