Possible causes po201 Dodge - Faulty fuel injector 1 - Fuel Injector 1 harness is open or shorted - Fuel injector 1 circuit poor electrical connection Possible symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) - Lack/Loss of Power - The engine may be harder to start - Engine hesitation I would check fuel pressure also.

I have already checked the fuel pressure and its where its suppose to be so I know its not the fuel pump or fuel filter how would I close the injector?

Well on that one, you buy a new injector. Open would be in the electrical circuit, which normally means it is in the injector. Is this the only code? Otherwise I would do fuel pressure bleed down test which would indicate bad injectors, lines, or regulator. The spark, is in nice and white? Not yellow in color?

yes that is the only code on it and it just popped up yesterday , but also I would like to find out why I am always getting a red flashing bolt light all the time after I stop , it is a total loss of power ,

Is that a Red Lightning Bolt Light? I read several articles finding that the problem lies with the throttle body being dirty. I think I would take it off to clean good and put a new base gasket on. Here is one of the articles...... Expert: vipertech763 replied : Okay.....p2175 is low air flow/restriction detected (slow accumulation). I was already thinking that this was going to be the code. I have personally seen this code numerous times and each time the cost was a simple repair. The throttle body and throttle plate being dirty is the primary reason for this code. Cleaning it is the repair. This can easily be performed with an old tooth brush and a can of throttle body cleaned. With the engien off, take the air cleaner and housing off the engine so as to gain access to the throttle body. Then using your fingers.....hold the throttle plagte open by pushing on top or bottom of the throttle plate ( which one escapes me at the momnet, most likey the top). This will open the plate and then hold it open while spraying a few shots of throttle body cleaner and then scrub with the old tooth brush. Repeat this until clean. Then reinstall all the components and then its time to start it. It will be somewhat difficult to get started at first so use the throttle and keep it runnning until all the cleaner is burnt off. Then if the check engine light is on, you can disconnect the battery cables and hold them together for about 2 minutes then reconnect them. This will clear any codes and reset all the modules at the same time.

Every thing I read about the red lightning bolt light refers back to the throttle body.

I found some more info for you to go over that may apply:..... 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi, Red lighting bolt on lower right of dash comes on. When this happens the motor will not pick up speed from standing start till you press the gas pedal on down, then it revs and really goes. The tach and motor is racing up and down. Re: 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi, Red lighting bolt on... Hi, if you don't have a manual, you can get a free download here: http://www.dodge.com/en/owners/manuals/ The lightning bolt indicates a fault in the electronic throttle control. It is likely the rheostat/potentiometer in the accelerator position sensor is dirty or worn out. I have pasted info on the part below from autozone.com. If you replace the sensor, be sure to follow the calibration procedure at the end of the installation instructions. Operation The Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) assembly is located under the vehicle battery tray. A cable connects the assembly to the accelerator pedal. A plastic cover with a movable door is used to cover the assembly. NOTE The APPS is used only with the 5.7L V-8 engine. The Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) is a linear potentiometer. It provides the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with a DC voltage signal proportional to the angle, or position of the accelerator pedal. The APPS signal is translated (along with other sensors) to place the throttle plate (within the throttle body) to a pre-determined position. A mechanical cable is used between the accelerator pedal and the APPS assembly. Although a cable is used between the pedal and APPS, a mechanical cable is not used at the throttle body. Throttle plate position is electrically determined. The Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) assembly is located under the vehicle battery tray. A mechanical cable is used between the accelerator pedal and the APPS assembly. Although a cable is used between the pedal and APPS, a mechanical cable is not used at the throttle body. Throttle plate position is electrically determined. Removal & Installation The APPS is serviced (replaced) as one assembly including the sensor, plastic housing and cable. The APPS assembly is located under the vehicle battery tray. Access to APPS is gained from over top of left / front tire. Disconnect negative battery cable at battery. Disconnect APPS cable at accelerator pedal. Remove wheel house liner at left / front wheel. Gain access to APPS electrical connector by opening swing-down door. Disconnect electrical connector. Remove 3 mounting bolts. Remove APPS assembly from battery tray. If cable is to be separated at APPS, unsnap cable clip from ball socket. Release cable from plastic housing by pressing on small cable release tab. To Install: Install Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) cable to accelerator pedal. Refer to Accelerator Pedal Removal / Installation. Connect electrical connector to APPS. If necessary, connect cable to APPS lever ball socket (snaps on). Snap APPS cable cover closed. Position APPS assembly to bottom of battery tray and install 3 bolts. Install wheelhouse liner. The 5.7L V-8 engine is equipped with a fully electronic accelerator pedal position sensor. If equipped with a 5.7L, also perform the following 3 steps: Connect negative battery cable to battery. Turn ignition switch ON, but do not crank engine. Leave ignition switch ON for a minimum of 10 seconds. This will allow PCM to learn electrical parameters. NOTE The DRB III Scan Tool may also be used to learn electrical parameters. Go to the Miscellaneous menu, and then select ETC Learn. If the previous step is not performed, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set. If necessary, use a proper scan tool to erase any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from PCM. Re: 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi, Red lighting bolt on... My 2003 dodge 5.7 Hemi had same problem I ended up replaceing Throttle Body Control which actually receives signal from TPS. Dealer was no help didn't know what I was talking about so had to take it on chance and special order. This was a problem when I bought truck used but happened only on freeway after about 3 hrs on trips. Over couple years progressively got worse until it would exhibit problem almost every time I drove it. Wasn't cheap part but easy to install and hasn't happened since. Re: 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi, Red lighting bolt on... Before you replace any parts like I did, I spent $1500 on a new throttle body and computer and still did not fix my issue. Spent $2 on a new grounding strap from the valve covers to the block and that fixed my problem. I also replaced a couple of badly corroded coils due to the grounding strap being broken. Re: 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi, Red lighting bolt on... This is actually not a solution but an addition to the question...my 2004 dodge ram 1500 5.7l hemi is having the same problem, however no one seems to be able to provide the part. one dealer told me i had to buy a new throttle body in order to obtain the throttle position sensor and another one said they arent the same (which i figured) and ordered a new pedal assembly only to find out that the sensor is not included on the assembly. with this being an issue and by my research a pretty common one at that.

You should have listened to the dealer. Your throttle position sensor is under that black cover on the throttle body. It is part of of the throttle body. The only way to replace it is to replace the entire throttle body. Go to NAPA and get a (Tech/Expert), a company in Germany that makes these things. Under $200.00! Do not buy a re-manufactured one. You will need to take it to your friendly dealership to have it tuned to your vehicles computer (PCM). That being said, it may not get rid of the lightning bolt symbol anyway. It didn't for me.
