Will a 2004 Durango 4.7 engine work in a
2002 Dodge pickup with a 4.7 as well

They are the same engine so I don't see why not. There might be a slight differance in the manifolds, but you can just swap them around if there is a differance.

No one engine has 8 plugs and the other has 16

A dual plug 4.7 chrysler engine, I have never seen one, even the duel cam version will bolt up.
