Can a dually rear end be installed on a 1500 frame? If so, are any modifications needed?

Yes you can install it but you may need to have spring mounts fabricated and obviously there will be fender issues but if you buy a correct dually bed that would take care of that issue. Your drive shaft probably will need to be modified to work with the new differential.
