Looking to upgrade steering wheel functions

I have a 2002 3rd gen slt quad cab Dodge Ram looking to do a steering wheel
upgrade with audio controls which I don’t have. Would a 2003 Laramie
steering column work?

From my research, A 2003 and 2002 Dodge Ram have the same manufacture setup, column wise. you could even drop in a 2004-2008 if you switch up the knuckle and change the connector to match that in your 2002. with either options, you will still have to manually wire in the controls to the stereo which IMO is the easy part. Check the connector first but should be good to go.
