Why do the air vents close when the truck is under load?

Asked by Guru76DYF Jun 19, 2020 at 09:07 AM about the 2001 Dodge RAM 1500 ST Club Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The blower is still running but nothing is coming out of the vents. Can this be corrected or adjusted?

The door that is supposed to direct the air to the vents is probably broke and blocking the air from coming out of the vents... apparently it's one of the most common issues with dodge vehicles... its located underneath the dash near the middle, closer to the passenger side usually... I'm not a mechanic but I had the same issue and that is what it was...

Most likely it’s a vacuum issue. There are two supplies from the engine compartment that you should explore. A black and a green line. Also check the cruise control to see if it works. If it doesn’t then most def a vacuum issue
