Dodge Van Spontaneously Stops

Asked by Kmalavey Aug 06, 2017 at 06:22 PM about the 2000 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Club Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Has 150,00 miles. While driving it has spontaneously stopped three times the
steering wheel freezes, engine dies and error message "errBus?"
Very scary as I'm transporting handicapped kids.
It starts again within 1/2 hour.
It froze on a very curvy road and scared me to death. I was just lucky as I
couldn't steer and all gauges and engine stopped.
At shop now but they can't reproduce the problem and say computer says it's
fine.
Please help. I'm at a loss and we are all stuck at home.

I believe the buss message is telling you the instrument panel has lost communication with the rest of the system. You need to park the van until it is fixed!!!!!!!!!

Wiring issue. Could be corrosion or shorted wire keeping ECM from communicating
