I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup V8 that the lights will not turn on anymore. They started out blinking every now and then over the past couple months but now stay off.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After looking at all the forms and what everybody else was going through with
their vehicles I decided to change the combination multifunction switch and it
still does the same thing. I'm thinking about changing the headlight switch next
but after that I don't know we're even to begin.

I assume you checked the fuse

Yah checked the fuses. When I hold the swith to turn the high beams on they turn on but don't stay on unless I hold it.

That's a ratcheting switch in that it has a on-off- on-off ...I'm considering the trucks age when I recommend this... spray some light oil while pressing the switch... you should feel it latch after half dozen hard push's
