Oil Pressure Gauge drops to “O”.

Asked by Guru9WMFFT Mar 09, 2021 at 09:12 PM about the 1998 Dodge RAM 1500 SS/T RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I own a 1998 Dodge 1500 Ram (318) Sort Truck.  When starting, engine oil
pressure gauge reads around 40 PSI.  When warm, and upon braking, engine
oil pressure drops to “0”.  When increasing RPM to 1000, gauge returns to
around 40 PSI.  I have replaced PCV valve, front and back cat O2 sensors, oil
pressure sensing unit.  Truck runs beautifully, just an irritating “ding, ding ding”
from the “Check Gauges Light” kicks in when I stop at stop lights or drop
below 900 RPM.  PLEASE HELP!!!
