Oil pressure drops and raises irratically when oil level is low. Now sounds like it has spun a berring.
Well if it sounds like it then is probably has one with more on the way, the erratic pressures were telling you there was a problem with the oil pump or a restricted oil pickup. Now you will need at least a crank kit, new oil pump and pickup, just hope you didn't take out the cam bearing also, did the lifters ever click when this was happening? If they did better figure on doing the cam, lifters and bearings also, at this point in time you might consider just overhauling the motor completely. You could put in a good running used engine then sell it, or sell it as is where is if you don't have the bucks for major work.
I don't know about the lifters I wasn't in the truck when it happened. Lifters are quiet now but I only ran it for about 10 seconds. You pretty much confirmed what I was thinking that anything less than a complete overhaul is probably a waste of time and money. Truck is not worth that much money. Thanks for the advice.
