How can i tell if i have a crack in my block on a
1996 dodge ram 1500 after i already have change
the head gasket

Compression test, leaking oil, leaking water, black, white or blue smoke from the tail pipe

when you did the head gaskets , did you send out the heads to get checked for cracks , and re-surface ? If you did , and they were ok ,then most likely the block is cracked . Especially if the engine overheated bad . The white or blue smoke is usually a head problem .
