How to hollow out 96 dodge ram 5.9 cat

Is the olny way to hollow out the cat by cutting it
with a welder to drop it and use a medal bar to
bang out the honey comb. I dont have a welder to
drop the cat

You can cut the exhaust pipe just aft of the cat with a hack saw or recip saw. Unbolt the exhaust pipe from the manifolds. Hollow it out, get an extension pipe from the auto parts store n a couple'o clamps n reinstall.
