Dodge trouble shooting

I swapped transmissions in my 96 dodge 1500, it
has the 5.9l 360 in it. Now that I've got it back
together, it acts like the starter is bad, it worked
fine before I replaced it, But I tested the starter
anyway. and it pops and spins good. Anyone have
this problem before? Going to go back down to the
shop sunday and trace back the starter wires and
go from there.

If it's not an electrical problem check the starter drive to flywheel ring gear clearance. You might need to shim the starter. Generally speaking the clearance should usually be .020". Hope that helps! Jim
