Question type: Maintenance & Repair

If truck has been sitting for couple hours or over
night and I go to start it and go somewhere it will
steadily climb in temp which is normal but then it
gets to overheating temp then eventually gets
pinned at red line sometimes it will shoot back
down and cool off itself sometimes I have to get out
turn truck off and squeeze coolant hose and you
can hear boiling

Sounds low on coolant, check the coolant level. Also the thermostat may need to be changed out.
