Pick up dies at about 1500 rpm while in gear will run fine when not in gear.

Asked by Coloradobowhunter Oct 03, 2008 at 01:21 PM about the 1994 Dodge RAM 1500 LT LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 94 dodge was running fine.  I drove down the road and it just died on me.  I was not like it was starving for fuel rather the fuel supply shut off.  I can wait about 10 to 15 minutes and it will start as soon as I put it into gear and get the rpm's up to about 1500 it shuts down again.  It has a 5 speed manual trany.  Any suggestions.  One friend told me about a possible fuel relay on the fire wall that allows the fuel to run through when the ignition is turned on any ideas about that or where it might be located.   ???????????????????????????????????????????

Could be fuel filter has sediment stuck in it. Every time you shut down the sediment drops from blocking the line. Just a thought....

shouldnt have bought a dodge bfbc, go buy a toyota now,......i mean now stop reading this and go buy a toyota, so go sell ur dodge for 3 dollars or let a hobo sleep in it during the winter also give him some roman noodles, then once u have done this and winter is over go to carmax and steal a toyota and when i say steal i mean "steel" and when i say "steel" i mean "steal", so remember this young cricket dodge sucks my friend, josh, has a dodge and hes gay and the truck is also gay so sell ur dodge immediatly and buy a diff truck like a mongoose truck, "they are the best."
