AT MY WITS END-
2006 Ford Taurus SE
3.0 Vulcan 2V
161k miles

Literally brand new today Autolite Platinum plugs. Gapped
.042.
*Pictures below is the plugs I replaced.

<2000 miles on Duralast plug wires (had to rebuild the back middle [#4?] plug wire today when the boot came off the metal connector) <100 miles on the BWD ignition coil pack New as of yesterday catalytic converter y-pipe with new gaskets (had code P0430) <400 miles on Bank 2 Sensor 2 O2 sensor <200 miles on Bank 2 Sensor 1 O2 sensor Brand new today Heated PCV valve MAF, IAC both cleaned with MAF cleaner. Ran for 10 minutes on the driveway, started acting the EXACT same way as before the replacements. Took for a drive around the town to try and clear out the fuel injectors (added Chevron w/Techron Complete Fuel System Cleaner last fill up). Ran maybe 1-1.5 miles then started acting like it has a failed plug or something. Loaded up the Torque OBD2 app... Vacuum runs around 19-21.4 during idle. Drops instantly down to 0.5-1.0 upon take off then flutters up to around 12 until I take my foot of the gas and it'll run back up to 19-20 while it's coasting. Idle in park fluctuates between 650-750rpm When going up a hill in town, RPM starts to rise but vacuum struggles to stay above 5.0 while the car studders and bogs down Barely making it to 30mph. UPDATE-- Re-Replaced the coil pack (just in case) Changed the vacuum line and coupler that's on the backside of the air intake tube behind the MAF. Cleaned the MAF and IACV again. Ran the smoke test, no leaks. Tried the propane test, no changes. Tried misting water on the injectors to ensure they're seated, no variation in RPMs. Misted water around EGR to check for leak at the O-ring, nothing. No improvement! Wtf!?

@Bob- They're literally brand new from the factory. I am however cutting the 3rd unmonitored cat out today to see if that last one is the problem. @tennis shoes_ I'll have to go get that done or get the tools to do it myself and get back with you.

This P0353 code has shown up again. It's intermittent but sows when I drive more than 5 miles or so. I can clear it and it won't show for days. The plugs, wires, and coil pack are brand new.

Make sure that the rest of the exhaust (muffler and pipe) is not restricted. Debris from a bad cat can sometimes plug the muffler. Dropping the exhaust and test driving it may or may not be helpful.
