1990 Ford F-250 motor swap

Asked by Dustin Sep 15, 2016 at 01:13 PM about the 1990 Ford F-250 2 Dr STD 4WD Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a '90 f250 with a 460 7.3L gas
engine. The motor blew and I am trying to
find a compatible engine that would fit into
my truck, or if it's best to just rebuild it?
Any help anyone can give is very helpful.

Go to ford dealer and order a new engine, last I heard you can get a new old stock motor with just the block and heads completely assembled, then put your distributor, intake, carb & all else on it or put all new accessories. After market intake & carb, dist, serpentine pulleys and belt set up. Of course new water pump. Keep the old motor in case you sell it and the new buyer wants it.

I have a 1990 Ford F-250 with a blown 351 in it will a 5.4 Triton v8 Work if I tried to swap them.
