Will a 2006 F-150 FX4 haul more than a XLT in the bed?

Asked by GrizzMaster Jul 30, 2015 at 06:30 PM about the 2006 Ford F-150 XLT Flareside 4WD

Question type: General

I am looking to buy a 2005 or 2006 F-150. I want the best payload so I need to know if the FX4 will haul more than the XLT. Also I see a lot of XLT's with the FX4 package but know there is a true FX4 truck. What is the difference other that the gear shifter is on the center console on the true FX4? Thanks for any info. Depends on the package different weight capacities and different options. For weight ratings look on the tag on the door or driver's door post.

The true FX4 package will have a monochromatic paint scheme with painted bumpers interior will be a charcoal or light flint color usually and it can be cloth or leather depending on the package. http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/windowsticker.aspx?vin= The link I provided for the Ford window sticker will work on 07 and up and will give you all the info. You could get the FX4 pkg which was skid pans on XLT and Lariat or the stand alone FX4 pkg.
