My f150 2002 4.2l does not start, also on the dashboard, oil, temperature, gasoline and battery indicators do not work

Asked by Jan 01, 2017 at 11:36 AM about the 2002 Ford F-150 Lariat Crew Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The noise suppressor of the radio caused me sparks because it was badly
isolated, after that, my car turned off, the indicators of gasoline, oil level,
battery and temperature stopped working, already replace some relays but
still not working ...

I'd get a new battery...examine the ground connections to BLACK 40 amp cable, splits in two one leg goes to the fender/chassis, so the dash and lights will work...and the other leg of the black will have to go to the motor or bracket so the Amperage needed for your starter will be there...these systems need FRESH power....BATTERY and perhaps New cables with no corrosion on them will be the answer here~

F-150's are basic creatures...remember the troublesome impact switch near the steering column~ but extra security stuff is completely at your command...thanks for allowing me to "showoff" my oil painting skills here~
