I have and I know the bushings r bad but was wondering how to tell if leafs r flattened. Cause my thought is if bushings r bad that allows leaf springs to move and the only way they can move is to flatten out but if I replace bushings will leafs go to back to normal
Do the springs look flat or do they have a nice upwards curve? If the truck is sagging on one side that is a sign that it needs new springs. Replacing the bushings will have no effect on the springs. It will help the ride a little bit though.
My 2002 F150's springs are fine but the plastic pads in between the leafs are worn out and some are missing. I am thinking to replace them because it may smooth the ride out a little.
Ya looking like I need springs. On some of the stuff ive looked at on line they say 97 & 98 f150 & 97 & 98 f250 light duty will match up but other things say that the f250 super duty r the same except a lil thicker. Do u no if the f250 sd would work or what all will. Just woundering cause if I have to chage them I might as well up grade them also
I don't know if the F250 springs would work but all you would have to do is measure them. The pre-Super Duty F250 in 97 and maybe 98 in the F150 body style springs might very well work. They will be a lot stiffer than what you have now.
