96 Ford f150 5.0 dies when you go to give it gas

I have a 96 Ford f150 XL 5.0 I've replaced the fuel
filter the the fuel pressure regulator I have yet to
replace the fuel pump it runs good while it's idling
but when I go to give it gas it dies please do you
have any suggestions

Might see if cleaning the idle air control valve helps....make sure the air boot between mass airflow sensor and intake is in good condition (holes are commonly on bottom side of boot, could be mass airflow sensor or even vacuum lines
