Why does my truck sound like it has a cam? It's a 1996 Ford F-150 with the 5.0 in it

Just replaced the head gaskets, it's on
time, all spark plugs are hitting, new
distributor, just sounds like it has a cam

If timeing is right,and plugs are good,you may have a vacume leak around intake,or fuel injector is bad.
