Question type: General

Filled up at a shell. Drove about 100 miles
felt it sputter then its just shut down. Sat
there for a half hour started made it about a
mile. Kept doing this finally had a buddy
come pull us into town. Got to town and it
started right up but its been sputtering and
idling very rough then smooths out and goes
back and fourth. When I did make it a few
miles it had no power and would only run

I know bad gas is at fault, but it may be bad spark plugs or plug wires too.

Water in the fuel is a big problem in my area, I would remove the fuel filter and back blow it out in a container just too see how much contamination is in it, if there is a lot then your going to have to drain out the fuel tank and then remove it and have it cleaned, change the fuel pump and relay while your there as most likely the crud damaged the pump, put it back together with a new filter and run some Chevron or Texaco fuel for a couple of tanks to help clean the rest of the fuel system. Now if there isn't much contamination you might get by with just pumping out the bad or watered down fuel, replacing the filter and add a bottle of gas dryer and some Chevron or Texaco fuel and see how it does, if may take a bit for the fuel to get the injectors cleaned up but usually not more than 20 miles, then you will know if you have any ruined components like injectors or plugs.
