93 f150 5.0l wont start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi I have a 93 f150 that doesn't start. I drove
to the store and when I was done shopping
it wouldn't turn over. I replaced the starting
solenoid still nothing. No turn over no
clicking all the lights on the dash turn on but
nothing else. I can get it started by jumping
the two ports on the solenoid with a screw
driver. I'm guessing the starter is good
because it starts when jumping the ports on
the new solenoid. I replaced the key barrel a
few months ago and has been working fine
don't know if that could be the problem just
a cheap part. Or maybe the ignition switch.
Any help will be appreciated.

If the engine will start when you cross the terminals on solenoid relay bolted to the finder well, by the battery, then he starter is good. Check the solenoid relay, instructions on the net. Make sure power is being supplied to the relay when the key is turned.
