what would prevent power from getting to the starter switch

Do you mean your not getting the starter to engage when you turn ignition switch? Or are you not getting power to ignition switch?

Dont know, just bought the truck...... not getting power past selinoid.......(new selinoid) havent been able to get it started at all........Please Help.......

Does all the accessories work with the ignition on. If so I would make sure your getting power to solenoid. If you are the starter is suspect.

did all the wires get hooked up to the selenoid, battery is hooked up, good cables on the battery and not one of those bad clamp on battery terminals with a bunch of ring connectors cobbled on it. first question a good electronics guy usually asks is IS it plugged in and the switch turned ON,

Ok I got this problem with my 1990 Ford F-150 I turn the key and pop the ignition switch broke so I replace it and still no power but I ran a direct power cord off my own to the two power wires on it and everything is working just fine but now idk if I’m not getting gas to the fuel inection system or what
