With a hi idle, block off the mouth of throttle body, It should kill the engine, if no effect on idle, you got false air getting in there from somewhere. Make sure throttle valve or cable isn't hung up? The maf sensor could cause issues, with everything off, unplug it. Take the vehicle for a spin, if does better have to check that system. Any applicable trouble codes?
