upgrading subwoofer

i am replacing the subwoofer in my 05 sport trac adrenalin and the factory subwoofer measures 7.5" across.  i have only put custom enclosures in cars in the past and dont know if there is a specific model or size i should go for to replace the blown factory one.  i dont want to mess with the amp if i buy the wrong wattage.  does anybody know the specs on the factory sub and any suggestions on replacements??
