Heater blower

I have a 2003 Chevy suburban that the fan
blower intermittently turns off. Sometimes
when you turn on the heat it blows just fine
the entire time. Sometimes it will just
suddenly stop blowing. Sometimes it wont
blow at all when you turn it on. I've checked
all the fuses and they are ok. I Dont think its
the blower motor because it does work, just
not all the time. Is there a relay or regulator
or something that controls it?

It is more than likely that your your control head has a failing blower control knob. The knob controls a rather complex rotary switch which has had tendency to go bad in past models. The rotary switch in the control had CAN be replaced, rather than replacing the entire control head. Replacing either will have to be done by a rather skilled individual, a dealership or an auto repair shop. The rotary switch behind the blower control knob in the control head is a $25 part. The control head itself is a $150 part. It is a VERY labor intensive job to properly replace the rotary switch (and its' lead wires). To replace the control head is much easier and quicker. Either way, labor is what is going to get you - as is always the case with auto repair. Best of luck!

What makes the fan speed control panel get warm? Mine wasn't working. I bought a new fan motor and fan relay switch but now it seems only to work on all settings but high.
