Should I need to get an alignment after changing out my steering box?

Asked by Robinger Aug 29, 2015 at 11:05 AM about the 2004 Ford F-350 Super Duty XL Crew Cab LB

Question type: General

I had the seals blow out in my steering box and had to change it out in my
driveway. All seems normal but wondered if I should get the alignment
checked out.

Removing the steering gear box will not change your alignment, Depending on the amount of miles on the vehicle, & noticeable tire wear, loose front end parts & repair, then an alignment would be necessary...

A good alignment shop will not do an alignment with any worn parts. They always tell you what is wrong if anything.

Thanks for the info guys. Alignment was good before so I'll just keep a close eye for any abnormal wear.
