How to get out of limp mode on a 1994 Mercedes Benz S320 W140

Asked by GuruDK87G Sep 09, 2017 at 07:13 AM about the 1994 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 320

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have bought a 1994 Mercedes Benz S320 W140 Petrol Automatic, it is
in Limp mode. The Throttle body was badly contaminated, due to no air
cleaner element .... previous owner removed it. Also... the engine wiring
loom I have heard is suspect due to biodegradable insulation materials
used... In the process of having a new engine wiring loom made... Will
this resolve my LIMP IN MY PIMP?

Meant to state there that the straight 6 3.2 L engine is fine, I have had it to 3000 RPM under load, it runs beautifully.. it hunts at idle between 600 and 1200 RPM. No response on accelerator pedal... can die if pushed too hard.

I guess you didn't pay a lot of money for that car- but now, it is time to pay up- with a Mercedes, there is no alternative-

Excellent.. will keep you posted after new Engine wiring harness loom is installed.. thank you ... This engine is a I6 104M... and very gutsy. Here is a pic of the old loom... terrible.. pieces missing and insulation crumbling everywhere... (must be shorting out in harness loom.
