I understand that mercedes has a sealed for life
dipstick, but How would you add transmission fluid
on a 2006 Mercedes ML350?

There is a certain procedure to follow and it gets checked and topped off at a certaint temperature what u would call the "drain" that's actual a drain and a fill or service port Depending on model transmission service is recommended at 45k miles or 70k miles per Benz service manual and maintenance logbook.
