HVAC system problem

Asked by GuruYDQFQ Feb 20, 2018 at 02:53 PM about the 1998 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E 320 4MATIC

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My air recently stopped working (Blower not starting). The blower motor was replaced about a year ago. I checked the DTC codes and it codded 226 (In car temp sensor). I changed the temp sensor and the air still doesn't work (But it hasn't recoded). I also read the sensor values and got a reading of 96 off of the In car temp sensor... That had to be very close to the actual temperature in the car. The fact that I got a reading makes me think I don't have an open circuit or a short. I am a novice at best and am hoping that someone more experienced may better see a logical path to follow in trying to resolve this problem. Thanks

Check all associated fuses and relays. The resistor pack attached to the blower motor may be bad. Verify that your vent flaps are operating as you use the CCU.
