My car wont engage gears even on D.

My benz starts well has power, but wont engage gears even when i shifted to drive. The rev counter just goes up.
There is a whistling sound in the gear box. Its automatic transmission.

Check fluid level in your transmission, it may be low to non-existent or your torque converter is dead.

Broken half shaft.Between your rear differential and your rear right wheel. Happened to me. Amazing but true!
