50/50 is normal climates. Think is a 3 gallon system w rear heat. 2.2 w/o flush system good lose the dexcool and swap it to a different low phosphate coolant. Dexcool eats the cooling system from inside out, plastics and hoses/gaskets,mechanical hard parts.water pump freeze plugs.

After I flush the system with distilled water and drain out what I can I add straight coolant , that and the residual water can be enough to create a 50/50 mix .

Look at your owner's manual for the cooling system capacity. Usually it will be given in quarts. Divide that number by 2. That's how many quarts of straight antifreeze you need to refill the system after a flush. Remember that 4 quarts is 1 gallon. Add that many quarts of straight antifreeze with the engine running and the heater set to full hot and running. Some systems have a shut off valve at the heater core when the heater is not being used. So you want that valve open while you're refilling. If, after you add the correct amount of straight antifreeze, need to add more, top off with your distilled water. Add a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and distilled water to the plastic coolant recovery tank and you'll be all set. I use all makes/all models antifreeze to replace the Dexcool. Hope that helps! Jim
