The trailblazer battery died left key in ignition now I
can't get it to turn over to start or turn back to get
key out

Check battery connections first, tighten them up. Any power at all when you turn the key?

Just happened to me about a month back... ended up having to replace entire ignition lock cylinder after key was forced to turn... not recommended. Oops. To save approx $50 you can try a cheat from https://youtu.be/R7D3mxFwp4M Hope it helps...
