Was the AMG offered in an automatic .The 190 that is?

Can you tell me if the 190e 2.3 AMG was offered in an automatic?

Yes, you can find these, although most buyers opted for the stick shift.

Actually the "engine" was not British sourced. It was based on the standard 2.3 litre 8 valve Mercedes M102 engine. Mercedes made the neccessary internal modifications to the engine block and Cosworth made the 16 valve twin cam cylinder heads only, which were then shipped off to Germany to be assembled by Mercedes.
