Asked by Brian Jan 24, 2014 at 11:40 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Runs great no codes, going down road the
Trac Off light comes on and then car dies.
Sometimes starts right back other times
will just keep cranking over. New crank
sensor, alternator and Batterry. Will sit and
idle for hours no problem.

Next time it does this check spark plugs for fire and fuel rail for fuel pressure. This will help to narrow down your issue.

Does it go dead when slowing to stop or just random times while driving? If going dead when slowing to stop your egr valve could be sticking open.
