Why does my 2004 with 55000 original miles keep dying after being repaired at 4 different shops in 1 year?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 2004 Chevy Cavalier coupe 2.2 L, 4 cylinder car at a charity
auction with 55,000 original miles.  Car was immaculate including engine.

After 3 months car would not crank over.  It was trying to turn over, but
would not.  It was not the starter or alternator.  It was not the battery. I then
tried changing a fuse located in the engine compartment.  (don't recall
which one).  Still wouldn't turn over, so I had It towed to mechanic shop who
replaced the coil.

Car ran another 3 months and same thing happened.  Took it to Chevy
dealer who did oil change, fuel filter change, fuel pump replacement, and
auto trans shifter cable replacement.

Car ran another 3 months then died when I was backing out of my driveway.
Took it to 3rd shop who did tune up, (changed all spark plugs, fuel filter
again, etc).  I also bought a new battery because I live in the desert and
thought maybe the heat could have affected the initial battery.

Car ran another month then idle was off.  For example, car would die when I
came to a stop sign.  Had to put it in park and rev the engine at stop signs
so it wouldn't completely die.  Took it to 4th shop who replaced coil again,
even though I had replaced that months ago.  Said my injectors were fine
and only needed new coil.

Car ran a month more but now indicator lights are on: for the wrench, ABS,
and trac off.   Plus car still wants to stall out and die.  My stars!!! What else
can it be as I've spent a ton of money and it's repeatedly leaving me
stranded ever since I bought the car a year ago.  Thanks for your help.
