Drivers door won't unlock from outside with GM PK3 key nor with Keyless FOB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After market Anti-Theft Receiver installed in Chevrolet Venture 2005 by dealer after purchase; Keyless FOB stopped working; Did online research; put new battery in; red light flashes when you press button, GM PK3 key works to start car, no problem there; so battery good & working; CANNOT open drivers door from the OUTSIDE and don't dare lock door after you get out as key won't work in outside door lock cylinder nor will Keyless Fob open it. So you are locked out of your car! Does door actuator have anything to do with opening door?  Receiver gone bad? Keyless Fob not programmed right? Need some other educated guesses here. Thanks.  Sandie

I pushed on my Key Fob real hard and heard a click, and door now unlocks at least with the key on the outside, which is more than it did before. So now I can at least lock it from the inside and outside, although haven't programmed new Key Fobs yet, to see if it will work by unlocking door with keyless. Maybe the drivers door actuator. we'll experiment and see.
