Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Chevy Venture van. The check engine light comes on and says
the thermostat is bad. I have had thermostat replaced and coolant sensor
replaced. But still has the same problem. I had a local repair shop hook up
there Snap-on diagnostic tool and it showed that the computer was actually
seeing a tempature reading 186 degrees. I'm to the point I do not know what
to try now?

Also I forgot to tell you. That the temperature gauge usually around the half way mark. Now it is around the 3/8 mark.

Put in new dash gauge panel. Gauges would go bad. Chevy had recall on tons of gauges. Most were Gas gauge and temperature gauge. Mine did same on 2005 Chevy Venture LT. Replaced gauges works fine. Go to www.AirBags.com. Name is a misnomer, as they also are OEM replacement/repair for dash gauges including bulbs & power supply for loads of different cars and with life time warranty. In 2014 price was $108 for repair and ship back to you. You pay shipping to them. I paid $24 to ship to them. Get back in couple days, OEM fixed and Life Time Warranty. I called them up, paid via my credit card, shipped it out and got back in 2 days. Been working since 4/10/2014!
