Side automatic sliding doors won't fully close

Asked by jcsportsmn Feb 09, 2015 at 07:24 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Uplander Extended FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The driver side sliding door will not automatically close fully. It mostly closes but before
it latches it opens again. I pulled the fuse out and it works fine manually. Any ideas? No
problems with passenger side.

I had this problem a few years ago. When I took the van to the dealership, I was told that the wiring and housing for the wiring on that door needed to be replaced. They wanted to charge me $450 to do that. I took the fuse out and it became a manual door. Haven't a a problem with it since. Good luck!
