Toyota Tacoma SR5

I have a 2002 Toyota Tacoma SR5 with four wheel
drive. Truck is an automatic. The last time I put it in
4-wheel drive was winter. I test drove it today and
as I put it in 4-wheel drive high or low, when I return
the wheels and start driving they would bind really
badly what could be the cause of this and would it
be expensive to repair?

These are part time 4wd units. In the users manual and all over the internet you are informed to never engage 4wD in dry conditions. The system is fighting for positive traction and you have positive traction on all 4 tires. You are making it bind and it will damage it if you are not careful. Only use 4WD in slippery conditions.
