How easy or hard is it to get to the speedometer cable?

My speedometer cable is making a terrible noise!! think i may need to spray with wd40 or something.. maybe easier to replace. any help will be gladly taken. thanks

Do Not use WD40; you need graphite. Remove the cable end and puff some in -reconect and take a drive to distribute it along the cable. Wont take as much as you think, but the stuff is cheep. Find it at any auto parts store or big box store
